Wasabi, a lively Quaker parrot, found his way to Gaia Animal Sanctuary in the most unexpected fashion. One sunny day, he decided to make a grand entrance by landing on a client’s head outside a local vet’s office. The kind vet knew this cheeky little parrot needed a loving home and promptly reached out to Gaia Animal Sanctuary.
When we went to pick up Wasabi, we were immediately charmed by his cuteness and big personality. He seamlessly joined a small flock of fellow small birds at the sanctuary and quickly became one of the gang. Wasabi has spent a couple of years with us, during which he’s not only found his place but also developed quite the vocabulary, including his own name and a plethora of other words he learned from his avian companions.
Wasabi’s character is as big as his vocabulary. He’s obsessed with humans, constantly entertaining us with his quirky antics. However, he’s not one to be held or petted – he values his personal space. At Gaia, we respect his unique preferences, allowing him to be his charming, independent self.
Wasabi is a testament to the individuality of each bird at Gaia Animal Sanctuary. He’s a reminder that every feathered friend has a story and a personality that deserves to shine.
